Forbes Shire Council: To mark Remembrance Day a Lone Pine seedling has been planted next to the Cenotaph in Victoria Park. The seed for this tree is from the original lone pine tree from the Battle of Lone Pine during World War 1. The seed it grew from can be traced back to a pinecone from the original Lone Pine tree that an Australian soldier mailed back to his mother in Australia, who planted and grew more Lone Pine trees from them.

Parkes Ladies Auxiliary: The Parkes Ladies would like to put out a big thank you to Steve the Manager at Cunningham’s IGA in Parkes for the super fruit and vegetable raffle that he donated for the Remembrance Day street stall which was held on Friday 8/11/24 also a big thank you to Paul Byrnes at Central Butchery for his great donation.
