A 27-10 win for the Parkes Boars made the trip to Cowra to face the Eagles all the more worthwhile.
Parkes settled under the guidance of Captain Israel Symington settled after the first 15 minutes. Dan Ryan took a high ball from a line out and found the hands of the winger T. Laberato. Lab grounded the ball to put the first points on the board.
The next points came when John Rath- bone stole the ball from a breakdown in play and fed it to the backs until full back Josh Miles faced a 15m sprint to find the line. This time the conversion sailed across to take the Parkes lead to 12-0.
Lloyd Rogers was next to cross over un- der the posts and the lead extended to 19-0.It was Cowra’s turn next and the half time score stood at 19-5.
In the second half the Parkes lead went to 24-10 when Joe Nash using his soccer skills to cross the line to beat the defence to the ball. Powlay added the extras and Parkes took a 24-5 lead.
Cowra countered with a quick tap and scored out wide., but with less than 10 minutes to go Parkes added an extra three points to finish the match 27-10.
The Parkes Boars second grade team rolled out in force to beat the Cowra Ea- gles 33-0. The Boars took control of the match from the kick off.
