This weekend marks the end of the 2018 Junior Netball year after a fantastic round of preliminary finals last weekend. In Division 1, the 2nd vs 3rd preliminary final was extremely tightly contested, with United coming away eventual winners 17 to 16. United will play Eagles in the grand final with their victory of 28-15 over Wildcats.
Division 2 have had some stand out performances throughout the year with Wildcats taking the win over Galaxy 25 – 0. Wildcats will not have any easy game in the grand final as Eagles defeated United in the second preliminary final 13 – 6. United played extremely well all season, and Eagles have been outstanding too which should make the Division 2 grand final a very close game.
Last weekend was the final weekend for the non-competitive SetGo Division. A big thanks to all of the coaches, parents, carers and players who made this season such a success.
It was a fantastic year for the Net program. With 14 girls registered by the end of the season, it has been the most successful Net program to be held in recent years.
A big thank to Jane Cook for running the program each week, and all the parents who helped. Tomorrow night is the Parkes and District Netball Association’s inaugural presentation night. All players and interested people are welcome to attend. If you don’t have your tickets already, please contact the association as soon as possible.
