Long lunch by the lake: Come and enjoy a two course luncheon to help raise funds for a mobile Physio Touch machine for Forbes and Parkes Hospitals on Sunday, 13th November in Lions Park at 12:30pm. Peak Hill Writing Awards: Do you like to write? Do you live in the Peak Hill postcode area? Peak Hill Library would like to invite you to enter the first ever Peak Hill Library Writing Awards. The awards will be a new event for Meet You Up the Street Festival, Peak Hill’s annual Christmas event on 2nd December, when the winning stories and
poems will be announced and read aloud at the family night at the Bowling Club. There are three categories: short story, open poetry and a children’s writing award. A first prize of $100 will be awarded in the short story and poetry categories, while the children’s writing first and second prizes will be $50. There is a special entry requirement
– each poem or story must mention Peak Hill. Entries close on 15th November and are to be delivered to Peak Hill Library or Parkes Library by 5pm.
