The Lachlan District Woman’s Rugby league Club has made an extremely successful debut this year into the Western Woman’s Rugby League Competition. It has been a wonderful season for all the players, coaches, parents and volunteers involved. The new club managed to have 110 registered players sign on to enter the Western women’s rugby league competition.
It goes without saying that womens and girls Rugby League really is one of the fastest growing sports in Australia at the moment. There is a mention of trying to extend the Western Woman’s Rugby League Competition season from 7 rounds to more but who knows what will happen, we will just have to wait and see at this stage. The 18s came out on top and remained undefeated and on top of the table. The 18s side is full of amazing talent young talent and to have 4 girls from this team head into Tarsha Gale comp for the NRLW is just simply amazing with Georgie Coote being named for the second year in a row to South Sydney Rabbitohs Tarsha Gale Side, Tegan Smede being signed to Illawarra Steelers for Tarsha Gale, Liz MacGregor to Roosters Tarsha Gale and all 3 girls also play our opens side as well.
It was great to see one of the team’s rookies, Charli Robinson, be awarded player of the match for the u18’s grand final. There has also just been another 4 girls named after being selected into the 2024 western Rams Lisa Fialo squad, a big congratulations goes to the following girls who were selected to Grace MacGregor, Alana & Joselyn Folau and Ruby Jones.
